Katherine Elizabeth Cochrane was the daughter of Basil Edward Arthur Cochrane and his wife Sally Caroline née FitzGerald. 

She appears on the 1861 census living at Barham Court in Kent with her parents and siblings. 

On 1 May 1879 she became the second wife of John Edward Leveson-Gower, the eldest son of John Leveson-Gore of Bill Hill, Berkshire, and Charlotte Gertrude Elizabeth née Mitchell. 

Their marriage produced two children. 

The family appear on the 1891 census living at Bill Hill in Berkshire. John Levenson-Gower gave as his professional Justice of the Peace and Major in the 4th Derbyshire Regiment. The household included a governess and eleven servants (including a butler, a footman, a groom and a coachmen), with several farm servants living nearby. 

In 1911 Katherine Leveson-Gower was a widow living with her son John and three servants at 34 Draycott Place near Sloane Square in Chelsea. 

Mrs Katherine Elizabeth Leveson-Gower died on 20 April 1928 at Bill Hill, Wokingham, Berkshire. She left an estate valued at £8711.
