(1843-1925)
22 July 1861

Volume 4, page 264, sitting number 5128.

[The sitter is identified as 'Miss Weld' in the Silvy daybooks and by a pencilled inscription verso in a period hand but was identified as 'Mrs Silvertop' on the album page.]

On 24 August 1862 at St James's Roman Catholic church in Spanish Place, London, Henry Charles Silvertop of Minster Acres in Northumberland married Caroline Filomena, eldest daughter of Edward Joseph Weld of Lulworth in Dorset (Leeds Mercury, 25 August 1862).

The couple appear on the 1871 census living at Minsteracres Hall in Northumberland with their two young daughters Henrietta (7) and Violet (5). Also present on the night of the census were a governess and 17 servants, with a coachman, gardener and gamekeeper all living in nearby buildings on the estate with their families. Henry Silvertop gave as his profession 'Magistrate, Deputy Lieutenant [and] Landowner.'

Mrs Caroline Silvertop died, aged 82, on 26 December 1925 at 45 Egerton Gardens, Chelsea. She left an estate valued at £14,318.
