The Honourable Henry Arthur Cole
(1809-1890)

The Honourable Henry Arthur Cole was born on 14 February 1809. His parents were John Willoughby Cole, 2nd Earl of Enniskillen, and Lady Charlotte Paget.

He served in the 7th Hussars and in the 12th Foot, gaining the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.

He held the office of Member of Parliament for Enniskillen between 1844 and 1851. From 1855 to 1880 he was the MP for Fermanagh.

He died unmarried, aged 81, on 2 July 1890. According to his obituary in the Illustrated London News (19 July 1890): 'He was born Feb. 14, 1809, the second son of John Willoughby, Earl of Enniskillen, KP, by Lady Charlotte Paget, his wife, daughter of the first Earl of Uxbridge, and sister of Field-Marshal the first Marquis of Anglesey, KG. He was formerly in the 12th Foot and 7th Hussars, served in Egypt in 1882, and the Souakin Expedition in 1885. He sat for several years in Parliament - for Enniskillen from 1844 to 1851, and for the county of Fermanagh 1855 to 1880.'
