Prince Paul Esterhazy
(1786-1866)

The Esterhazy family of Hungary rose to prominence during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Pal Antal [Paul Anton] Esterhazy played an important part in the Congress of Vienna which settled the Napoleonic Wars in 1815. He was later Austrian ambassador to the Court of St James.
