This real photo postcard probably shows a wife taking final leave of her husband. The dead man's face appears to be heavily scarred. 

Photographer and location unidentified but bought from a Russian dealer so presumably Russian or East European.

The postcard measures 3.4" by 5.4" (8.6 cm by 13.7 cm) with a white border (not shown in scan) at its right-hand edge.
