Countess of Oxford

Born Eliza Nugent in or about 1807, she was the natural daughter of George Thomas John Nugent, 1st Marquess of Westmeath. On 17 February 1831 she married Arthur Harley, son and heir of the 5th Earl of Oxford. Her husband succeeded his father in 1848, becoming the 6th Earl of Oxford, but he died without heirs on 19 January 1853 and the ancient title became extinct.
The Countess of Oxford and Mortimer died, aged 70, on 14 September 1877 at Braywick, her residence in Berkshire.
