Anne Emily Worsley Holmes was the youngest daughter of Sir Leonard Worsley Holmes, of Westover, 9th Baronet, and Anne Redstone née Delgarno. She was born at Westover on the Isle of Wight on 3 February 1821.

On 3 July 1844, she married Lord Alexander George Russell, eight son of the 6th Duke of Bedford.

She died, aged 85, at Dover on 16 October 1906.
