Born at Bungay in 1808, Louisa Marianne Susan Frances Kelso was the daughter of Major-General Robert Kelso of Bungay, Suffolk.

On 15 May 1834 at Lawshall in Suffolk she married Reverend William Acton Colville, Rector of Baylham, Suffolk.

The couple appear on the 1851 census living at the Rectory in Baylham with their six daughters and two sons. Also present on the night of the census were a governess and six servants.

Reverend William Colville died at Baylham on 28 April 1859, leaving an estate valued at £18,000.

In 1861 Louisa was a widow living at Horringer House at Horningsheath in Suffolk. The household now included five daughters, one son and five servants.

Mrs Louisa Colville died ‘after a long illness’ at Horringer House on 12 September 1867 (Bury Free Press, 21 September 1867). She left an estate valued at £2000.
