Probably the daughter of the Dean of York, she appears on the 1871 census with her mother and her younger brother, Adolphus, living at the Deanery in Minster Yard, York. At the time of the census, Miss Duncombe was 29 years old; she gave York as her place of birth. Born in 1842, she died in 1903 in the district of Marylebone, London.
She appears on the 1901 census, aged 59 and unmarried, living at 49 Berkeley Square, London, still with her widowed mother, who by now is aged 91.
