Trapeze artist
A cabinet card portrait of a trapeze artist wearing a flesh-coloured body stocking.

A pencilled inscription verso in a period hand reads ‘Charmian / Folies Bergères / 9bre [September] 1898.’

Photographed by ‘Photographie de l’Art Nouveau’ at 9, rue Cadet, Paris.

condition: The print is clearer, brighter and sharper than the scan suggests, but the tip of its upper
left-hand corner is missing. The mount shows a small amount of edge and corner wear.
