A cabinet card showing a printer/stationer standing outside his shop. Presumably the man in the photograph is the J. M. Wood named on the sign above the building.

A pencilled inscription in a modern hand on the reverse of the mount reads St Kilda, Main Street / Melbourne / Australia c.1880. Perhaps this additional information was given on the page of the album in which the cabinet card was found.

Photographer unidentified.

condition: The print shows some surface dirt and is a little pale in some places. The mount shows foxing, particularly on its reverse side, and two corners are damaged, one quite badly.
