A gelatin silver print showing a French athlete, inscribed and signed by the sitter. The inscription reads Pour “Neness Ricaux” encore et / toujours un champion. Et aussi un bon / copain, Toutes mes amitiés, [For “Neness Ricaux”, still and always a champion, and also a good mate, with best wishes] and is dated Tabarin, 1942 but the signature itself is all but illegible.

Photographed by Photo Brucken of 23 bis, avenue Junot, Paris 18eme.

Including its narrow white border, the print measures 7.1” by 5.1” (180 mm by 130 mm).
