|A 1/6th plate ambrotype showing a young man with centre parting, wearing light trousers with contrasting piping down the outside seam.
Housed in a very badly battered, plain, oxblood leather case (spint spine) with single hook fstening, lined with very faded gold, embossed velvet lining (which was possibly once red).
Plain brass oval matt, ornate inner-frame.
The area all around the sitter has been enamelled a uniform, matt black, in order to make the image of the young man stand out.
