Reverend J. Fuller

[The Silvy daybooks identify the sitter as ‘Rev. J. Fuller.’ According to the Clergy List of 1866 there are three candidates for a fuller identification.]

John Mee Fuller (1835-1893) was a Fellow of St John’s, Cambridge, and the Curate of St Peter’s in Pimlico. He was 26 years old in June 1862. He died on 16 August 1893, aged 57, leaving an estate valued at £9906. 

John Fuller (1824-1897) was the Rector of Thurcaston-cum-Anstey in Leicestershire. He was 38 in 1862. He appears on the 1871 census living at Thurcaston; his household included four servants. He died on 11 April 1897 at Stranground Vicarage in Huntingdonshire leaving an estate valued at £5466. 

Joseph Fuller (1824-1903) would also have been 38 in 1862. In 1867 he became the incumbent at Christ Church Ramsdell, Hampshire. He died, aged 79, on 2 December 1903 leaving an estate valued at £35,702.
