The Honourable Selina Constance Somerville was the daughter of the Honourable Kenelm Somerville, from 1842 16th Lord Somerville, from 1862 Admiral Lord Somerville. Her mother was Frances Louisa née Hayman. She was baptised on 16 December 1841 at Leamington Priors, Warwickshire.

On 6 August 1861 at Leamington Priors she married Ralph Smyth of Enniscoffey, Westmeath, Ireland.

The Honourable Selina Constance Smyth died on 13 January 1910 at 38 Albert Court, Kensington Gore. She left an estate valued at £39,248.
