Volume 10, page 208, sitting number 13,202.

Born on 3 June 1840, Gertrude Elizabeth Ingham was the fifth daughter (fourth surviving daughter) of Joshua Ingham of Blake Hall, Mirfield, and his wife Mary Cunliffe Ingham née Lister. She was baptised on 24 July 1840 at St Mary’s, Mirfield.

When the census was taken in 1871, she was still living at home, aged 30, with her widowed mother and siblings.

Later that year on 19 October 1871 at St Mary’s Mirfield she married William Brooke of Northgate House, Honley, son of Thomas Brooke, merchant.

Their marriage produced two children: Thomas, born in 1875, and Gertrude, born in 1879.

At the time of the 1911 census, Gertrude was staying with her husband at the Knowle Hotel in Sidmouth, Devon. He gave ‘Cloth manufacturer’ as his profession.

Mrs Gertrude Elizabeth Brooke died, aged 81, on 6 October 1921 at Northgate, Mount Honley, Huddersfield, and was buried two days later at St Mary’s Church, Honley. She left an estate valued at £6864.
