'At St James's Piccadilly, on the 16th inst., by the Very Rev. Dean of Carlisle, father of the bridegroom, Capt. F. Arden Close, R.N., to Paulina, second daughter of the late W. Kraeutler, Esq., of Cornwall Terrace, Regent's Park, and Strasburg' (Carlisle Journal, 21 April 1863).

In 1891 the couple were living at Stoke House, Stoke Gifford, Gloucestershire. The household included four servants. Ten years later they were living with three servants - including a butler - at 'Trafalgar,' their residence in Clifton Down, Bristol.

Mrs Fanny Paulina Close, wife of retired Admiral Francis Arden Close, died on 5 March 1903 at Trafalgar House, Clifton Down, Bristol. She left an estate valued at £31,217.
