Reverend William Chandos-Pole
(1833-1895)

Born in 1833 at Radbourne in Derbyshire, William Chandos-Pole was the son of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole. He appears on the 1861 census at the house of his parents, The Hall, Radbourne. He gave his profession as 'Rector of Trusley.' At the time of the census, he was unmarried.

On 26 January 1865 at St Michael's Church in Ford, Northumberland, Reverend William Chandos-Pole, 'third son of the late Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole, Esq., of Radbourne, Derbyshire' married 'Christina Crackenthorpe, only daughter of the late Capt. Askew, R.N.' (Derby Mercury, 8 February 1865). His wife bore two children but died, aged only 29, on 23 March 1868. 

Reverend Chandos-Pole appears on the 1871 census as a widower  living at The Rectory, Radbourne, near Derby, with his four-year-old daughter, Margaret, and his three-year-old son, Christopher. He now gave his profession as 'Rector of Radbourne.' Also present on the night of the census, besides his seven servants, were his brother, Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole, and his nephew, Reginald Chandos-Pole.

Reverend William Chandos-Pole died on 3 March 1895 at Radbourne Rectory, Derbyshire. He left an estate valued at £2700.
