Born in London in or about 1805, Peter Nugent Kingston was the son of John Kingston of East Barnet, Hertfordshire. 

On 21 August 1832 at St Luke's in Chelsea he married Catherine Minet Raper, daughter of Charles Chamier Raper.

Dr Kingston of the Royal College of Physicians appears on the 1861 census, living at 8 Kensington Gardens, Kensington, with his wife, Catherine, a visiting niece, and two servants. He gave 'London' as his place of birth and 'Physician' as his profession.

Peter Nugent Kingston 'formerly of 27 Curzon-street Mayfair in the County of Middlesex but late of Church Lawford in the County of Warwick' died, aged 77, on 11 Novemer 1882 at Church Lawford Rectory in Warwickshire. He left an estate valued at £4741. According to a brief announcement of his death in the Morning Post (17 November 1882), he was 'late consulting physician at Westminster Hospital.'
