Mrs Robert Alexander

[This portrait does not appear in the Silvy daybooks. Identified as 'J.C. Alexander' by her signature on a small piece of paper pasted to the reverse of the mount, this is probably Mrs Julia Charlotte Alexander.]

Born Julia Charlotte Fane on 5 March 1825 at Agra in India, her parents were William Fane and his wife Louisa (née Louisa Hay Dashwood). On 23 July 1844, she married Robert Alexander, son of James Alexander and his wife Charlotte Sophia (née Dashwood).

Mrs Julia Charlotte Alexander died, aged 75, on 3 January 1903 at Edwinstowe Hall, Newark, Nottinghamshire. She left an estate valued at £58,142.
