Miss Georgina Buckle
(1842-1929)

[This portrait does not appear in the Silvy daybooks, so the sitter probably visited the studio between July 1863 and June 1864, the period covered by the missing volume of the daybooks.]

Born at Edlingham in Norfolk in 1842, Miss Georgina Matilda Buckle appears on the 1861 census, aged 19, living with her father, Matthew Hughes George Buckle, a clergyman and private tutor, at the Vicarage, Edlingham, Northumberland. She was still living with her parents at the same address in 1871 and 1881.

Georgina Buckle never married. She died on 4 March 1929 at the Hotel Melrose in Brussels. She left an estate valued at £11,730. Probate was granted to her brother, Lieutenant-Colonel Dudley William Buckle.
