Mrs Francis Bevan
(1840-1863)
20 September 1861

Volume 5, page 77, sitting number 5812.

Born 1 December 1840, Elizabeth Marianne Russell was the daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Lord Charles James Fox Russell and Isabella Clarisa née Davies.

She appears on the 1861 census living at Westminster with her family. Her father, Lord Charles Russell, was the 'Serjeant at Arms to the House of Commons.'

On 22 July 1862 Elizabeth married the banker Francis Augustus Bevan (1840-1919) of Ludgrove Hall in Cockfosters, son of Robert Cooper Lee Bevan, also a banker, and Lady Agneta Elizabeth Yorke.

On 26 May 1863 Mrs Bevan gave birth to a son, Cosmo Bevan, who was baptised on 28 August 1863 at Christ Church, Cockfosters in North London.

Mrs Francis Bevan died on 8 June 1863, presumably as a result of the birth.
