(1808-1892)
27 March 1861

Volume 3, page 7, sitting number 2727.

[The previous entry in the daybooks is the Honourable Edward Curzon, this sitter's husband.]

Born Amelia Sophia Charlotte Daniell on 1 October 1808 at Beddington in Surrey, she was the sixth daughter of James Evance Daniell and Eliza Martha Pasley née Hodges. In 1834 she married the Honourable Edward Cecil Curzon (1812–1885), a barrister, registrar of patents, cousin of the third Lord Scarsdale and son of Baroness de la Zouche.

For many years the couple lived at Scarsdale House, on Wright's Lane in Kensington. They appear at this address, together with their four daughters and their eight servants, on the 1861 census. Their two sons were elsewhere on the night the census was taken.

The Honourable Mrs Curzon died, aged 63, at Scarsdale House on 29 March 1892.
