Margaret Randalina Roche was the eldest daughter of Philip Roche of Donore, County Kildare, and his wife, Anna Maria Plunkett, daughter of the 13th Lord Dunsany. On 3 November 1836 at Twickenham she married Thomas Nicholas Barnewall, who succeeded his father as 16th Baron Trimleston in 1839. The marriage produced one daughter, Anna Maria Louise Barnewall. Their residences were 24 Park Lane in London and Turvey House, Dublin.

Lady Trimleston died, aged 65, on 4 September 1872 on the Isle of Wight. 'The lamented lady, who was in her 66th year [...] leaves surviving issue an only daughter, the Hon. Anna Maria Louisa, born in May, 1839, and married, in 1868, Mr Robert Henry Elliott' (Morning Post, 9 September 1872).
