The next sitter in the daybooks is Mrs John Glas Sandeman. John Glas Sandeman and Albert George Sandeman were sons of George Glas Sandeman, wine merchant of London and Oporto.

Born in Denmark on 15 April 1834, Maria Carlota Perpetua de Moraes Sarmento was a daughter of the Portuguese diplomat Viscount Moncorvo, who later served as the Portugese Ambassador to Court of St James’s. She married Albert George Sandeman on 14 February 1856; the marriage produced two sons and four daughters.

Mrs Mary Charlotte Sandeman died, aged 89, on 30 May 1923 at Graylands, Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex. She left effects valued at £7770.
