the Honourable Robert Craven

The Honourable Osbert William Craven was born on 6 February 1848, the third son of William Craven, 2nd Earl of Craven. For 34 years he served in the Berkshire Infantry Yeomanry as a Lieutenant-Colonel; he also held the office of Justice of the Peace for Berkshire. His skills included woodwork, turning on the lathe, bookbinding and leatherwork. He died unmarried, aged 75, on 5 March 1923 at Ashdown Park, Shrivenham, Berkshire, leaving an estate valued at £35,693.
The Honourable Robert Walter Craven was born on 4 January 1850. He joined the Royal Navy but died on 5 March 1866, aged 16, at Montevideo in Uruguay, aboard HMS Spiteful.
