Miss Augusta Saumarez Tawke
(1856-1947)

Born on 19 February 1856 at Rochford in Essex, Augusta Saumarez Tawke was the daughter of physician Arthur Tawke and his second wife Augusta Mary née Hamilton. 

She appears on the 1881 census living with her parents and four servants at The Lawn, Rochford, Essex. 

In 1901 she was living with landowner Samuel Sidney Baker and his wife Fanny at Bullwood Hall in Hockley, Essex. She was still at the same address in 1911. 

She never married. She died, aged 91, on 12 October 1947 at Whitbreds, Hockley, Essex, leaving an estate valued at £11,205.
