Military figures of the Second Empire
A mosaic carte-de-visite composed entirely of military figures. Marshal Castellane can easily be recognized at the centre of the top row, and directly below him, General Trochu. Not all the figures are French; in the lower half of the image, the collage includes Lord Clyde, who relieved Lucknow in 1857, and in the lower left-hand corner, Lord Lucan, who was responsible for the Charge of the Light Brigade.
