Prince Troubetzkoy

Disdéri’s catalogue of March 1861 mentions two men with the last Troubetzkoy. Under Princes et Princesses français et étrangers appear the names of Prince Pierre Troubetzkoy and Prince Nicolas Troubetzkoy. An inked inscription recto in the upper margin identifies this sitter as 'Jean Troubetzkoy' and the Musée d'Orsay's website identifies the sitter as 'Prince Nicolas Jean Troubetzkoy.'

Nikolai Ivanovitch Troubetzkoy was a Russian journalist.
