An inked inscription on the reverse of the mount reads ‘Giuseppe Baccari’ [sic] underneath which another (later) hand has written 'Pop's mother in coffin, Theodora Vaccari / One with hanky is daughter'. The dead woman’s initials appear on the side of the coffin.

The print measures 4.6” by 6.2” (11.6 cm by 15.8 cm) and is mounted on a mid-brown mount of Bristol board with an elaborate design of scrolling printed in the margins; the mount measures 6.8” by 8.8” (17.3 cm by 22.3 cm).
