Volume 7, page 7, sitting number 8274.

James Graham was born at Glasgow in Scotland in 1820.

Burke’s Family Records describes him as ‘James Graham, of Hilston Park, St Maughans, co Monmouth, and 39 Ennismore Gardens’ in Knightsbridge. He was a JP and DL for Monmouthshire and the county’s High Sherriff in 1881. His clubs were Brook’s, the Wellington and the Windham. Hilston Park was, and still is, a Palladian mansion in the Monnow valley about eight miles northwest of Monmouth.

On 3 June 1862 at St Peter’s in Pimlico James Graham married Emily Sophia Kingscote, third daughter of Henry Kingscote, Esq., of Eaton Place. A son, Douglas William Graham, was born in 1866.

Emily died, aged only 49, on 5 November 1889 at 39 Ennismore Gardens, Knightsbridge.

James Graham died at the same address on 19 March 1908. He left an estate valued at £167,957.
