Françoise d’Orléans-Joinville, daughter of François, prince de Joinville and Françoise de Bragance, was born at Neuilly in 1844. In 1863 at Kingston in Surrey she married her cousin, Robert d’Orléans (1840-1910), duc de Chartres. Her husband was the second son of the eldest son of King Louis-Philippe I.

She died in 1925 at the Château de Vinieul-Saint-Firmin
