Viscountess Barrington
(1827-1898)

Born Elizabeth Jane Morritt in or about 1827, she was the only child of John Morritt of Rokeby Park, Barnard Castle. On 19 February 1846 she married George William Barrington, elder son of William Keppel Barrington, 6th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass in the Peerage of Ireland. The marriage produced two daughters.

In 1867 her father-in-law died and her husband succeeded as 7th Viscount Barrington of Ardglass. He died in 1886.

Lady Barrington died, aged 71, on 1 February 1898 at 39 Devonshire Place, London. She was buried on 4 February 1898 at Shrivenham in Berkshire.
