The dancer Henriette Schlosser, seen here in the revival of Daniel Auber’s opera La muette de Portici [The Dumb Girl of Portici] that opened at the Paris Opéra on 19 January 1863. Originally titled Masaniello, the plot concerns a Neapolitan uprising against Spanish rule in 1647.
