Léon Laya
(1810-1872)

The son of the academician Jean-Louis Laya, Léon Laya was born around 1810. He wrote several comedies which enjoyed a moderate success, including Les Coeurs d’or, in three acts, first performed at the Gymnase in 1854; and Le duc Job, in four acts, one of the longest running successes of the Théâtre-Français in 1859.

Léon Laya died in Paris on 5 September 1872.
