The Honourable Arthur Cadogan
(1841-1918)

Born the Honourable Arthur Charles Lewin Cadogan on 23 June 1841, he was the second son of Viscount Chelsea, later the 4th Earl of Cadogan. He served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy, and later a Captain in the 3rd Middlesex Militia.

He appears on the 1861 census, a nineteen-year-old Midshipman aboard the Bacchante. He gave Wilton Crescent, London, as his place of birth.

He married firstly, on 9 April 1870, Alice Charlotte, youngest daughter of Richard Arabin. She died on 16 September 1877. He married secondly, on 21 January 1888, Mary, widow of George W. Scholfield of Buckley Hall, Rochdale, and youngest daughter of Reverend George Livingstone Fenton. She died on 6 January 1914.

The Honourable Arthur Cadogan died without issue on 20 November 1918 at 2 Ryder Street, St James's. He left an estate valued at £2343.
