Miss Augusta Welman

Born in 1841 at Pitminster in Somerset, Augusta Charlotte Welman was one of the twelve children of Charles Noel Welman (1814-1907) of Norton Manor in Somerset, JP and DL for Somerset. Her father is listed in Converts to Rome: a Biographical List of the More Notable Converts to the Catholic Church (1907). One of her sisters became a nun, as indeed did two of her nieces.

She appears on the 1851 census living with her family at Tormoham in Devon.

In 1901 she was still living with her father, Charles Noel Welman, along with one brother and one sister, at Mentone Villa, The Parks, near Minehead in Somerset.

I can find no record of her death. An Augusta C. Welman died in 1903 but she was the widowed mother-in-law of retired infantry major in Bedford St Paul.
