Mrs Noel Hoare

Born Sophia Lilias O’Brien, her parents were Stafford O’Brien, of Blatherwycke Park in Northamptonshire, and his wife, Emma née Noel.
On 11 March 1834 at Blatherwycke she married Gerard Noel Hoare, 'youngest son of the late William Henry Hoare, Esq., and nephew to Lord Barham' (Coventry Herald, 21 March 1834).
The couple appear on the 1851 census living at 2 Cavendish Place, London. Mr Hoare gave ‘Magistrate’ as his profession. Mrs Hoare was born at Blatherwycke in Northamptonshire in or about 1816. Also present on the night of the census were their four daughters and three sons. Mrs Hoare had eleven servants to help her run her house.
Mrs Lilias Hoare appears on the 1891 census, living with her husband, two of her daughters, one granddaughter and five servants at 43 Warwick Road in Paddington.
She died, aged 76, on 27 March 1892. An announcement of her death in the Bucks Herald (2 April 1892) described her as 'Lilias, wife of G. Noel Hoare, Esq., J.P., and daughter of the late Stafford O'Brien and the Honble. Mrs Stafford O'Brien, of Blatherwycke Park, Northants.'
