Stafford O'Brien Hoare

Born Stafford O’Brien Hoare on 26 February 1843 at Blatherwycke Park in Northamptonshire, his parents were Gerard Noel Hoare and Sophia Lilias née O’Brien.
On 19 April 1876 he married Frances Matilda Anne Ramsden, daughter of the Reverend Charles Ramsden of Carlton Hall, Yorkshire. They had one child, a daughter, Lilias Frances Matilda Hoare, born in London in 1880, who married Major Edward Spencer Nairne in 1910.
Stafford Hoare appears on the 1881 census, a ‘Brewer’ living at Turville Park House, Turville Heath [Buckinghamshire] with his wife, Frances; his mother-in-law, Mary Ramsden; two other relations; and twelve servants, including a butler, a footman, a coachman and a groom.
At the time of the 1901 census he described himself as a ‘D.L. and J.P.’ [Deputy Lieutenant of the County and a Justice of the Peace.]
Stafford Hoare died on 9 September 1906. A lengthy obituary appeared in the South Bucks Standard the following week (14 September 1906).
