A pencilled inscription verso in a period hand reads: 'Viola Ethel Lenore / Born March 16th 1921 died March / 17 - 1921. Buried March 19th.'

Viola Ethel Lenore Larson was the daughter of Helmer Larson, a farmer of Norwegian and Lutheran heritage living in Hartland, Iowa. Her mother was Minne née Reyerson. Viola was born prematurely on 16 March 1921. She lived for twelve hours but died the following day. She was buried in Silverlake Cemetery (at Northwood in Iowa) on 19 March 1921. The undertaker was J.E. Amundson of Northwood.
