Miss Selina Bulkeley
(1838-1921)
8 August 1861

Volume 4, page 328, sitting number 5383.

[Identified as 'Miss Celine Bulkeley' in the Silvy daybooks, this is probably Miss Selina Bulkeley.]

She appears on the 1851 census, living at Clewer Lodge at Clewer in Berkshire. Her father was a retired army captain. At the time of the 1851 census, Selina Bulkeley was 13, so she would have born in or about 1838 and would have been about 23 at the time this portrait was taken. Her birth, however, doesn't appear to have been registered.

She appears again on the 1861 census, living on Spital Road in Clewer, at which time her father, Thomas Bulkeley gave his profession as 'JP' and she gave her name as 'H. Selina Bulkeley.'

On 11 February 1862 at Clewer Church in Windsor Miss Henrietta Selina Bulkeley, eldest daughter of Captain Bulkeley, late of the 1st Life Guards, married Captain William Salisbury Ewart of the Grenadier Guards, eldest son of the late Reverend Peter Ewart of Kirklington in Yorkshire (Dublin Evening Mail, 17 February 1862).

Mrs Henrietta Selina Ewart died on 21 March 1921 at 7 Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner. She left effects valued at £5526.
