Volume 7, pagee 154, sitting number 8861.

Born on 16 October 1839, the Honourable Augusta Caroline Crofton was the daughter of Edward Crofton, 2nd Baron Crofton of Mote. Her mother was Lady Georgina Paget, a daughter of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey.

On 18 July 1866 at Roscommon in Ireland she married Luke Gerald Dillon, who in 1893 succeeded his father and became 4th Baron Clonbrock, of Clonbrock in the County of Galway. Their marriage produced three daughters and a son.

She and her husband were both keen amateur photographers. Some 2000 of their glass plate negatives have survived and are held by the National Library of Ireland. According to the library's website, ‘[t]he images provide a substantial and varied pictorial record of life on a landed estate.’

Lady Clonbrock died on 5 September 1928, aged 88.
