Mrs Edward Markham

Born in or about 1807 at Trellick in Monmouthshire, Harriet Markham was the youngest daughter of the Reverend John Rumsey and his wife Charlotte. She was baptised at St Mellons on 30 September 1807.
On 4 July 1861 at Beachley in Gloucestershire she married widower Edward Markham, only surviving son of the late Very Reverend George Markham, the Dean of York (St James’s Chronicle, 6 July 1861).
Mrs Harriett Markham died, aged 79, on 8 February 1887 at ‘45, Welbeck Street, Cavendish Square, London.’ She was the ‘widow of the late Edward Markham, Esq., and last surviving daughter of the late Rev. John Rumsey, of Trelleck, Monmouthshire’ (Northern Whig, 11 February 1887).
She left an estate valued at £19,761. Her executor was ‘Edward Waugh Rumsey of Pilstone House near Chepstow in the County of Monmouth a Retired Lieutenant-Colonel from Her Majesty’s Army the nephew.’
