The Honourable Mrs Elizabeth Stuart

Born on 30 June 1828, the Honourable Elizabeth Frederica Lennox was the daughter of Lord John George Lennox, son of General Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond. Her mother was Louisa Fredericka née Rodney.
She was baptised on 3 August 1828 at Singleton in Sussex.
Before her marriage she was briefly one of Queen Victoria’s Maids-of-Honour. ‘Elizabeth Lennox has left & is very shortly to be married to her cousin Mr Stewart’ (Queen Victoria’s Journals, Osborne House, 20 October 1850).
On 12 November 1850 at St George’s, Hanover Square, she married the Honourable Alexander Charles Stuart of Eaglescarnie, East Lothian, son of General the Honourable Patrick Stuart and grandson of Alexander Stuart, 10th Lord Blantyre.
The Honourable Mrs Elizabeth Frederica Stuart died, aged 62, on 19 October 1890 at Eaglescarnie. She left an estate valued at £1940.
