Miss Smith-Neil

Born on 12 December 1817 at Craigie in Ayrishire, Henrietta Jane Helen Smith-Neil was the youngest daughter of William Smith-Neil, later of Barnwell and Swindrigemuir in Ayrshire. She was baptised on 13 January 1818 at Craigie by Kilmarnock in Ayrshire. 

On 17 March 1863 she marred Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Neil Edmondstone, late of the Bengal Infantry, youngest son of Sir Charles Edmonstone of Duntreath, 2nd Bt. 

Her husband died two years later on 14 August 1865, at the age of 47, at Haycock's Lodge in Ayrshire.

At the time of the 1871 census Mrs Edmonstone was living at Stevenston in Ayrshire. When the census was taken in 1881 she was at Dundonald in Ayrshire. 

Henrietta Jane Helen Edmonstone died in Ayrshire on 29 May 1888.
