[Identified only as ‘Miss Cookson’ in the Silvy daybooks, a pencilled inscription verso in a period hand identifies the sitter a little more fully as ‘M.J. Cookson.’ The inscription also includes the date ‘April 11th/ 62’ and the initials ‘M.C.W.’]
