Lord Henry Loftus

Lord Henry Yorke Astley Loftus was born on 9 April 1822. He was the youngest son of John Loftus, 2nd Marquess of Ely and Anna Maria née Dashwood. On 5 July 1864 he married Louisa Emma née Maunsell, daughter of Robert George Maunsell and the widow of the Earl of Seafield.
He died, aged 57, without issue on 28 February 1880, aged 57. According to the Glasgow Evening Citizen (4 March 1880): 'His Lordship was the youngest of the five sons of John, second Marquis of Ely, K.P., and his wife, Anna Maria, daughter of Sir H. W. Dashwood, Bart., and was born 9th April, 1822. He was educated at Oriel College, Oxford, and was appointed a captain in the Wexford Militia in 1854. The late Lord married 5th July 1863, Louisa Emma Dowager Countess of Seafield.'
