She died on 19 November 1913. Two days later an obituary appeared in the Leamington Spa Courier (21 November 1913): 'On Wednesday the death occurred in London of Mrs Emily Charlotte Beech, widow of Mr James Beech, and mother of Colonel E.J. Beech, of Brandon Hall, Warwickshire. Mrs Beech, who was 90 years of age, was the fourth daughter of the late Mr John Madocks, M.P., of Glanywern Hall, Denbigh, her mother being a daughter of Mr Abraham Wildey Robarts, M.P., of Putney Heath, Surrey. She married Mr James Beech in 1843, and for the past thirty years had been a widow. In the parish of Brandon she took a deep and practical interest in the well-being of the parishioners, and was a generous supporter of scholastic and other movements. Mrs Beech was the mother of five sons and one daughter, and the latter is the wife of the Hon. George Campbell, second son of the first Lord Napier of Magdala, and twin brother of the present peer.'
