A silver print showing a black woman and her twin babies lying in the same 'Whole Couch' coffin with drop panel side. The smaller of the two babies is next to her mother's head, the other lying on her right side. 

A pencilled inscription on the back of the mount reads 'Mrs Dora Cook Sublett, died February 16th 1924, born February 10th, buried at Stoney Point Tuesday February 19th.'

Born in 1901, Dora Sublett (née Cook) was the daughter of Hugh and Gabrella Cook. By profesion, she was a 'Housekeeper,' according to her death certificate. She died on 16 February 1924 of 'puerperal convulsions.' She was 23 years old. 

The children with her in the coffin are her daughters, one named Dora after her mother and the other named Albert [sic] after her father. Dora was stillborn on 10 February 1924, according to her death certificate, at Bowling Green in Kentucky. Albert was stillborn six days later on 16 February 1924. All three were buried together in Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
