The Honourable Colonel Cust

Identified as 'Hon. Colonel Cust' in the Silvy daybooks, this is Lieutenant-Colonel the Honourable Peregrine Francis Cust. Born on 13 August 1791 he was the fifth son of Sir Brownlow Cust, 1st Baron Brownlow of Belton, and his wife Frances née Bankes.
He married, firstly, on 9 October 1823, Lady Isabella Mary Montagu-Scott, daughter of Sir Charles William Henry Montagu-Scott, 4th Duke of Buccleuch, and the Honourable Harriet Katherine Townshend. He married, secondly, on 15 January 1833, the Honourable Sophia Mary Townshend, daughter of John Thomas Townshend, 2nd Viscount Sydney of St Leonards, and the Honourable Sophia Southwell. He married, thirdly, on 20 August 1860, Frances Steer, daughter of Charles Steer and Mary Wood.
From 1818 to 1826 he was the Member of Parliament for Honiton, and from 1826 to 1832 he was the Member of Parliament for Clitheroe.
He lived at 73 South Audley Street in Mayfair. He died at Southill Park in Bedforshire on 15 September 1873 at the age of 82. His estate was valued at £30,000.
